May is National Scrapbooking Month

For many people, scrapbooking has played an important role in their lives. It may have started with something simple: the first time they placed a sticker on a piece of paper or picked up a camera. Perhaps for you, it was the first time you realized you could make lasting memories for years to come.  But no matter what brought a person to scrapbooking, all scrapbookers have something in common with Stampin' Up! demonstrators: they love to create.

During the month of May, I will be celebrating National Scrapbooking Month. This is an opportunity for me to inspire your creativity and share some wonderful scrapbooking classes and tips with you.  Stay tuned!

6x6 Swatch of Designer Series Paper

Would you like a swatch from each of the papers listed below? I have a couple of gals interested in ordering from this paper split again. I need your help to fill it before I can order the paper.

What you will receive:

A 6" x 6" sheet of EACH of the patterned papers in the following sets. All in all, you will get 168 6" x 6" sheets.

Shipping to your front door. Cardstock will be very well padded as to not have any dents or dings!

Paper will be ordered once the split is filled (need a total of 4 gals). I will cut and ship to you in a very timely manner.

I’m Here!

Ever need a card because something came up that you weren't expecting? Like, a baby too soon? Or, someone is sick and you want to put a card in the mail quickly?

Here is a card that I made that fits that bill. Well, just the baby bill. But, the layout is so simple!

What I used:

Stamp set: I'm Here, Congratulations is from a retired Sale-a-bration set

Ink: Chocolate Chip

Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette Patterned Paper

Extras: Dimensionals, ¾" circle punch, Chocolate Chip Ribbon

Directions:

Cut chocolate Chip cardstock to be 4 ¼ x 11. Fold in Half.

Wrap ribbon around a piece of pink pirouette designer series paper (3 x 4). Mount on card.

Stamp chicks on whisper white cardstock and mount on card with dimensional.

Stamp sentiment.

Rub-ons for Card #5

So far, this is the fourth post with the Bright Delights Rub-ons.

This card is really simple and that is because of the neat border that is on the card. The border, perfect friend, and the flower are all rub-ons from the Bright Delight set. This is a great card to use up a few scraps in your pile.

Stamps: none

Ink: none

Cardstock: Kiwi kiss 5.50, whisper white

Extras: 1 ¼" circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, scalopp circle punch, dimensional, chocolate taffeta ribbon

That tree. I could have a whole bunch of sheets of rub-ons with just that tree. I think I could use it a lot. What do you think? But, change is nice, so that is nice that there are so many different fun images on the Bright Delight rub-ons.

Yesterday I went to Little Rock, Iowa. Yep, I travel. Those of you that live around here know it is a little jaunt from Canton, South Dakota to Little Rock, Iowa. If you don't, go to maps.google.com. Check it out there. Funny thing, I didn't really grow up all that far from Little Rock (grew up near Larchwood, Iowa). It was great, Melia, heading to your neck of the woods!

I love how the images work together. I always say that one of Stampin' Up!'s strong points –is how great the Stampin' Up! colors work together. Stampin' Up! does such a good job to make sure everything coordinates!

For this one, I made my own background paper using the rub-ons. See the flower, the heart, the owl and such? Those are all put onto the piece of white cardstock – and they are rub-ons. How cool is that!!!

I have used this layout a TON!! I LOVE, LOVE it. I love it that you can use whatever circle punches you own. I love it that if you use all patterned paper, you can flip, use different parts of the paper, etc. and the look is so cute!!

There is nothing more beautiful than a butterfly

How many of you are a sucker for a stamp set that includes a butterfly? I know I am! You can never have too many butterflies J.

When the Occasions Mini catalog came out, I was all over the Great Friend set. Because, of course, it had a butterfly in it.

 

Remember, my April card kit here?

I have used the same pieces to create this card using the Great Friend Stamp set.

There is SO much you can do with this card kit and stamp set. As always, you are only limited to your imagination.

You need to take a look at the video I have created. I have taken this card up a notch with embossing. The not quite navy butterfly, the words, and the butterflies in the background are all embossed.

Watch the video for the details of that. If you have never embossed, this is a great video to give you some ideas.
