Life Card with More to Come

Isn't this the most beautiful card?  I pulled it right off the front of our catalog.  I like the layout.  I like the complexity with the chance to tone it down.  I like the color scheme.  All in all a beautiful card.

Isn't the ribbon fraying too cute?  I have a video here that shows how to do that.

Don't have a sewing machine?  Don't worry about it.  Just adhere the ribbon with your SNAIL adhesive on the back side.

And, now for the Boy Build a Bear

Same concept as the Girl Build a Bear, but a boy J.

Isn't he so cute??? More paper pieceing, this time with Christmas paper from the mini catalog. But, who would know. I tied it in with the real red from the paper. I thought it turned out quite cute!!!

Well, off to school today. The kids' first day.

The first sample of the Build a Bear Preview

I am sure this will be the first of many. What an absolutely cute set!! I can't wait for the set to become available to all of you. (As a demonstrator, we are allowed to preview sets 1 month before they become available.) The Build a Bear stuff is going to be in the Mini Catalog and that starts on September 1. It'll be here before we know it J.

I think this card turned out so very cute!! I have used the Build a Bear set along with a word set that goes with it. Isn't it cute?? I have also done a little paper piecing. Notice the dress and shoes.

How to paper piece?

1. Stamp the bear on watercolor paper. Color in the bear using your favorite watercolor technique.
2. Stamp the bear on a piece of patterned paper (in this case Razzleberry Lemonade). Cut out the dress.
3. Stamp the bear on a difference piece of patterned paper (another sheet from the Razzleberry Lemonade). Cut out the shoes.
4. Adhere the dress and shoes to the bear that was stamped on the watercolor paper.

Ingredients:

Ink: Black Stazon, Melon Mambo, Chocolate Chip (for watercoloring)

Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Watercolor Paper, Razzleberry Lemonade Patterned Paper

Manhatten Flower Die

This is the last card that we made at my card class this month. Isn't it gorgeous? The inspiration came from Patty's blog.

It has been a rainy couple of days on vacation. That kind of slows down the fishing and the beach fun. So, I had a little time to put together another post for all of you.

When we get back home and get organized, I will get recipes ready for you. I am going to put together a card class for you all to order as well. Stay posted for the details.

Central Park Flowers

Ladies, I want to show you a card. We are on vacation this week so that is why the posts are few and far between. And, guess what? I didn't get any sleep last night. Had a rotten tooth ache. So, headed to the dentist. Who gets a root canal on vacation? In the next couple of weeks I will post the card that I make for this dentist. He was ABSOLUTELY awesome!! I was so impressed with the service of the dental clinic and I will let them know.

We made this card in my card class this week. I am thinking about putting together some kits together and including this card. Let me know what you think.

Have you seen the new South Dakota set?

There is one! I can't believe Stampin' Up! didn't name it that? Kristy, my customer, coined the name.

Isn't that a gorgeous set? And, so South Dakota. You know what our state bird is? Yep, you got it! A ring-necked pheasant.

So far, I have only played with the little maple leaf. But, you wait. There'll be more done with this set.

Like I said, I have only used the little maple leaf. But, I love it!

I hauled out my movers and shakers (as I like to call them – but they are actually movers and shapers). I ripped a little piece of patterned paper, added some ribbon, and I am off and going!!

Sorry for so few posts this week.  We are enjoying the last week with the kids before they head back to school.  Enjoy this one and I'll see you later!

Yesterday was my family, today is my laptop

How did you like my family? I am sure you can do a little searching and find some real pictures J.

Today I am going to show you my laptop. This was easy to do! If you want to do ½ as much work, only do one color.

I would suggest having 4 hands around – and the extra hands were those of my 9 year old.

I put on the white layer. And then lined up the rose red layer over top. I cut around the vinyl to get it to match up pretty good so that it would be easier to line up when they were sticky.

Here is what the vinyl looks like. The whole image is 13" x 13". I had to cut off the bottom of the stems, but it still looks great. Some people are separating the stems to and then they take up more space than just 13".

Here are the colors that you can order. I ordered white and rose red. They are each $9.95.

Here is an idea where three of the colors were used. And, the white was cut apart to use at the beginning and at the end. Colors used were rose red, white, and pumpkin pie.

This is the cutest picture I have of my family. Granted we are all a little dirty L.

What do you think of that? These little guys are so cute J. I COULD NOT WAIT to get my hands on them. These little guys come from our Definitely Decorative catalog. Cute, cute!!

Here is another view for you to figure out how big these guys are. I have had them on for a couple of weeks. The windshield wiper goes right over them. Haven't moved.

Here is a cork board that was made and those little people were added to it.

They are all $3.95. The Dad is the "biggest" at 2 ¾" x 4 ¾". Mom is a little big shorter. Then kids are a little smaller again, babies are littler again and then ets are a little smaller at the end. So, the elements are sized appropriately. Lovely, lovely J.

Everything is falling off!

I didn't notice it so much in this catalog, but I sure did in the last one. There would be a card and part of the card (or an element or piece) would be "falling" off. So, how do you get all that in your envelope when you have something falling off? Well, make your card a little smaller so the "falling" off piece + the card are still the original size.

As in this card. The original card (the bashful blue piece) + the falling off piece (the chocolate chip) together are still a regular sized card.

How to create: this card

1. Cut a piece of bashful blue to be 11" x 3 ½". Fold in half.
2. Cut a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock 2" x 4 ¼". Note: Now your card is the "true" size of 5 ½ x 4 ¼.
3. Cut a bashful blue cardstock circle from the 1 ¾" punch.
4. Cut a whisper white scallop oval using the Oval Scallop Punch.
5. Stamp the Star from Nursery Necessities using Chocolate Chip ink. Punch out using the large star punch.
6. Adhere the circle and scallop using SNAIL. Add the star using dimensionals.
7. Add sentiment using chocolate chip ink.

Happy Wednesday and a Guest Designer!

Good morning… Happy Wedesday…Happy Hump Day J. Yikes. When I worked full time I couldn't wait to get to Wednesday. Now, it seems like weeks just fly by and some days I don't even know what day of the week it is.

We have some fun ahead of us before school starts. We head to a lake for awhile. That is a great way to unwide before school starts.

As for school, I think we are ready. Clothes are bought. Bags are packed. Kids are ready. This summer has flown by. We have had the most gorgeous summer EVA weather-wise. We have had a few 90 degree days, but mostly the 80s top it. The kids have loved playing outside, riding bike, and just generally have a good time. 90 is good for the pool and reading books and the kids haven't done too much of that.

Anyway, on to the card. That is what you came here for, right?

This card today was done be an awesome friend and customer. I will call her Cathy, my Guest Stamper of the Day.

Isn't that pretty? I think she said she'd do a video tutorial for you all on how to do that. Just kidding Cathy J.

For the rose, she used Shimmer white cardstock. She embossed the rose using white embossing powder. Then, she made the rose wet with water using the AquaPainter. She dropped reinker colors of crushed curry and melon mambo and the colors just flowed. This card was inspired by Patty she told me.

I think this will make a good card for workshops coming up. What do you think?
