Open House Card and Video

As promised, one of the cards from the Open House.

Isn't it so pretty? The ladies at the Open House really enjoyed making this card. The lattice die is what makes this card. It adds so much beauty to the card. And, the lattice die is an exclusive Stampin' Up! Item. You will not find it anywhere else.

Raspberry Sangria Punch

This is always a hit!! I had this with my Open House the past couple of days. The gals LOVE it every time I have it. I headed over to www.kraftfoods.com for the recipe. I'll give it to you here.

What You Need

1 tub CRYSTAL LIGHT Raspberry Ice Flavor Drink Mix

1 qt.  (4 cups) cold reduced-calorie cranberry juice cocktail

1 cup cold orange juice

1 cup  cold white grape juice

2 cups cold club soda

Make It

ADD drink mix to combined juices in large plastic or glass pitcher; stir until mix is dissolved. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

POUR into punch bowl; stir in club soda. Serve over ice cubes.

Garnish with lemon, lime or orange slices.

Wow, it has been awhile!

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted. I know I have neglected my blog. I have been busy with workshops and wrapping up the Stampin' Up! year.

On a personal note, my kids are busy, busy as well. We put both of the big kids in ball this summer. That has been a riot. Any waking moment that I have is pretty tied up. I am sure most of you can relate. In came the kid and out went the blog. Heeheee. But, that is why I do this job, right? To be flexible? And, if that means cutting back in one area of my business to work with my kids instead, hey I am all for that! I can't imagine the hassle a lot of you go through to find care for your kids during the summer. I won't deny it – not every day is beautiful. But, it is a lot easier than rising up the kids in the wee hours to get them to a summer kids program. Enough rambling! Here is a card that I have cased. I received it from my upline a couple of levels, Brenda. Neatly done. It is using a color that retires today. The concept is so easy – it can be done with many colors!

The stamp set used is Fresh Cuts. To get the really Black stamping, use your Black Stazon pad. It makes quite a statement. The sentiment is also from the same set. Layer it on punched piece, add some dimensional, and you are set!!!

A scrapbook page made using Designer Series Paper

Did you notice that there are three packs of patterned paper that are a touch more money? That is because they are thicker and have a texture to them.

One of those papers is Rockabilly. This paper is awesome!

Here is a scrapbook page that was made using that paper.

Another card using patterned paper – and an introduction to Spanish sets

Brightly colored flowers and a splash of pizzazz make this congratulatory card one to remember!

This card uses the Frases Básicas stamp set. This is one of our new Hispanic sets.

Retirement Party Rescheduled

Retired Lists Are A Comin'

Monday,  June 1st.  Yikes, what a day that will be!  All of the retired items for this catalog will be released.  Retired stamps, retired accessories, everything!  And, if you have been around for previous retired lists, you know that when the items are gone, they are gone!  My suggestion – order ASAP so you do NOT miss out!!

I will be having a special for the month – for every order – get a gift certificate for 25% of your order (of retiring products).  That gift certificate can be “spent” in July on things in the new catalog.  Fun, fun!!  For example, place a $50 order of retiring product, you will get a gift certificate for $12.50.  Spend $200 on retiring products, get a $50 gift certificate.

The special goes for the whole month of June on ALL orders, but remember, the supplies of retired items is limited.  Order soon for best selection!

May Scrapbook Class

We will be creating a 6 x 6 scrapbook.  We will create 32 pages to put into a scrapbook.  The cardstock will be cut.  You may bring approximately 35 pictures to include in your scrapbook.  The fee is $50.  This will include an album, all the pages, and an in-depth explanation on how to get the book completed quickly.  You will only need 1-2 hours to get this finished.  All supplies are included - you may bring pictures (optional).  Within 2 hours your scrapbook will be complete!

How about Christmas in May?

Better late than never, right? Or, a lot ahead. However you want to look at it.

Here is my Christmas card. Actually, they went out before the first of the year. So, they weren't too late J. I put a lot of time into them and had a great time making them.

 

I ran all of these pieces through my Big Shot with the Top note die. Pretty cool! I punched a hole in them with the Crop a dile and put them in the mail. yeah!!

Little Birdie

I am sitting at my kitchen table writing this blog post. It is a beautiful morning. I hear the birds around the yard. What a gorgeous time of the year!

So how about a little Birdie card for the day?

Do you like this layout? It is TONS of fun. I like it when parts of my card "fall" off the card. So, this is how I do it:

The piece of bashful blue cardstock is cut 11" x 3 ½". Fold that in half and that piece is now 5 ½ x 3 ½. Do the math on that – a standard card is 5 ½ x 4 ¼, right? So, we have ¾ of an inch to play with. Make the strip of kiwi kiss textured cardstock "falls off" the card by ¾" of an inch. So, that strip of old olive cardstock is 2" x 8 ½" inches (fold it in half to wrap around the card). Easy peasy.

Ink: Stazon Black

Cardstock: Bashful blue, confetti white, kiwi kiss textured

Extras: Circle Punch (you can use what you have), watercolor pencils, aquapainter, more mustard ribbon, dimensional
