I have had this idea in my head for a LONG time, but just haven't gotten it done. It turned out really neat. The jar is a good sized one and now holds my coffee J. I bought the jar from Hobby Lobby I think.
How to do it? You will need the "raw vinyl" that Stampin' Up! sells. I will give you the number in the ingredients. The is like the Décor Elements that go on the wall, but you cut your own shape. Make sense? It comes on two great big rolls and you cut what you want. The sticky backing paper also comes with it. Everything you need in one place J.
Ingredients:
Raw Vinyl – I ordered it in Chocolate
Décor Elements Sheets
Each package comes with two (2) 12" x 24" sheets of vinyl in specified color, along with two (2) 12" x 24" sheets of transfer tape to make using your vinyl pieces easy to use. Instructions for use are included in the package.

Snowflake Die #2, 113460, $19.95
Jar
Glass Etching Cream
- Start by cutting yourself a piece of the raw vinyl a little bigger that the die that you are using. I am using the snowflake die here.
- Run the vinly through the diecut machine and pick out the snowflake. You do not need the snowflake at this time – you need the other piece.
- Cut a piece of the bakcing paper to be about the same size and the piece of vinyl.
- Peel the grid side off of the backing paper. the other piece that is left should be a little sticky.
- Stick the sticky piece to the vinyl.
- Peel of the white piece that was originally stuck to the piece of vinyl. You will be left with the brown vinyl with the sticky paper from the step above.
- Put your vinyl onto your glass surface.
- Peel off the white sticky paper.
- Use a foam brush and smeer on glass etching cream (I found it at Michael's --- it is probably other places as well).

- You are finished J.

what a very cool idea.
