Another sympathy card

The other day I shared a Sympathy card with you. I told you there was more to come. So, here is another one.

Pam, one of my fantastic customers, sent me a Thank You a LONG time ago. She used the "bird" set – Friends 24-7. I really liked the card. Somehow, I think the card was lost and I cannot find it back L. I remembered it and created a sympathy card based on it

Isn't it beautiful? By the way, have you ordered soft suede cardstock? If not, you NEED to!! Order a few extra packs. It is a In Color color. What does that mean? That means, when this catalog expires (around the end of June) you will NOT be able to order any more of that beautiful color. So, get some now!!! And since it is a color that goes with so much, you need to order a few extra packs!!

I paired the Soft Suede with Kraft cardstock. I liken Kraft to a paper sack at the grocery store. Not the same, but the speckling is kind of the same. I don't know – losing my mind maybe????

Beautiful Thank You Card :-)

So, Miss Hannah has a beautiful little boy. And, all beautiful boys deserve a trip to Gymboree, right? In return for a couple of things to her little guy, she gave me a Thank You card. Great trade, I say.

I apologize for that left elephant. He was wet in my mailbox (we had a bunch of rain and our mailbox is NOT good anymore – I wish the bills would be wet, but they never are!)

A Sympathy Card Share for you

I know, I don't really like to make these. Well, actually, I do like to make these. I just don't like to need them.

Do you know my story? Sympathy cards is why I started stamping. I didn't like going to the store and spending all this money on cards – and then they not say what I wanted to say. So, I started looking for a way to make these cards myself and have something that I really liked.

Here is a sympathy card that I have made lately. I have others that I will share with you as the days go by.

 

I LOVED how it turned out! I like the look of the Medallion stamp on that patterned paper. The patterned paper has a texture to it – so when I stamped it again kept that texture. LOVED it!!!

I kept the card very simple with just a couple of layers.

Upcoming Stamp a Stacks & Kits To Go

I am doing a couple of stamp a stacks this weekend. One is a General stack and one is a Christmas stack. A "stack" is making the four designs and making four cards of each of the designs. When you are finished, you will have 16 beautiful cards. If you come to a stamp a stack, everything is cut and ready for you to complete by stamping and putting the cards together. If you order the stamp a stack as a kit, the same follows: you will get all the precut materials including cardstock and ribbon. You will need to own the stamps (or something similar) to stamp and put together.

Christmas Card Stamp a Stack

First up is the Christmas card stamp a stack. You will make/get four of each of the designs. Note: patterned paper may vary depending on what is in the pack of paper. Ribbon will not be satin ribbon – it will be grosgrain ribbon. You have some choices:

1. If you would like to make this stamp a stack of Christmas cards this weekend (Friday night, November 13 at 7 PM or Saturday, November 14 at 10 AM or 2 PM), please let me know. I am offering this class in Sioux Falls, SD at a business on the East side of town. E-mail me TODAY so I can get things ready for you J. Cost for the stamp a stack is $30. E-mail is sandy@stampinsandy.com and phone number is 605.366.4059.
2. If you would like to host a stamp a stack and make these cards with your friends and family, please let me know. Cost for a stack is $30. You will earn hostess benefits on the number of gals that come and also for the orders that are placed. E-mail me today at sandy@stampinsandy.com. I have only a limited number of dates/times available.
3. You can also order these cards as a kit to go. Included in the kit to go will be the precut cardstock, ribbon, directions, and supply list. You have until Tuesday, November 17 to order your kit. Kits will begin shipping on November 17 and finish on November 19. Cost for the Kit To Go is $30. There are NO shipping charges.
4. Are you a demonstrator? You may order just the directions and supply list. Cost for the document is $4.95. Documents will be e-mailed on or before November 17, 2009. Each card will be on its own sheet so it is easy to share with your customers if you choose to not use all the cards.  Please note: document cannot be sold separately by individual demonstrators. You may sell kits to your customers and include the directions. In no way can the directions be sold individually or be given away by any demonstrator.

Step it Up Saturday

Do you catch the gist?????

My kids were sick last week. Since we don't do any testing for H1N1 or swine flu (unless they get really sick), we make the assumption it was the dreaded pig flu that fell upon our house L. So, I thought I would make an H1N1 Swine flu card. I was pretty impressed with myself. I think it is a light-hearted card for all those sick people out there. Pretty cute! I know I made it – but I think it is cute J.

A Christmas Card you can make a LOT

Some cards are really beautiful and a LOT of work. Some are really beautiful and just so simple. Both will pack a punch with the recipient. For Christmas it is fun to come up with a card that is relatively simple, but packs a punch.

Here is one such card. Really, there is one product that does this! It is glitter. Glitter can make the most simple design so powerful. Glitter is a hard thing to capture! Inspiration for this card came from Patricia.

Card Ingredients:  All Stampin' Up!

Stamp Set:  Serene Snowflakes (mini catalog)

Ink:  Night of Navy

Cardstock:  Night of Navy, Whisper White, Ballet Blue

Extras:  2 way glue, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, White Ribbon

Have a GREAT Saturday!  Here in South Dakota We got some of the REAL stuff -- snow!! Yikes!  The roofs and the grass are all white.  There is ice from melted snow on my step.  Fun, fun!

A Birth Announcement and a Holiday Card all in one!

Oh, no, I didn't have any babies as of late J. And, even this announcement isn't new. My brother and his wife had a beautiful little boy a few months ago. We made her announcements.

How does this tie into holiday cards? If you are looking to do a one page Christmas card and you would like to incorporate your stamps, this is the way to do it! This is a very simple card. We could have done more, but she chose to leave it at this.

Isn't he adorable??? Really easy – cardstock in Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery. Card is 5 1/4" x 5 ¼". I wanted to use our square envelopes (107289) which are 5 ½ by 5 ½ so that is how I came up with the card size.

I hope you enjoyed this idea. Switch out the colors and the stamp set and you will be on your way to making Christmas cards. A hint I have for you – when you print your pictures, do NOT crop in so close that your faces take up the whole 4" x 6". You will not have any room to crop. I think the width of this picture is around 4 ½". There was more of his body on the picture, but we cut that off.
